Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist

The Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist will provide clinical leadership to the Trauma and Orthopaedics Occupational Therapy service, managing a team of 8 staff members between Band 3 and Band 7 levels. The role requires a focus on staff management, engaging staff in an attitude of excellence, and instilling confidence.
Main Duties- Service Provision: Ensure the Trauma and Orthopaedics Occupational Therapy service provides a quality service that is evidence-based, effective, and efficient.
- Clinical Leadership: Provide clinical leadership by demonstrating highly specialist knowledge within the area of trauma and orthopaedics, managing and supporting others to manage a complex clinical caseload.
- Staff Management: Supervise, train, and provide day-to-day management to occupational therapists and assistants working within trauma and orthopaedic services.
- Service Development: Propose and action changes, develop, organize, and manage trauma and orthopaedic occupational therapy services.
- Communication: Establish robust communication networks with patients, carers, multidisciplinary members, and other agencies.
- Documentation: Ensure a high standard in relation to communication with patients, liaison with referrers, and documentation of intervention.
- Training and Education: Prepare and participate in lectures, seminars, specialist training programs, and demonstrations to occupational therapists and members of other disciplines.
- People Management and Performance: Lead, coach, and manage the performance of the team in line with good people management practices.
- Experience in Trauma and Orthopaedics at Band 7 and above.
- Experience and knowledge of leading and managing a team.
- Experience and skills of developing staff and leading with CPD.
- Experience and knowledge of service development.
