In this role, you will play a crucial part in assisting interns participating in the Prospects Supported Internships program, guiding them through their work experiences and facilitating their successful transition into permanent employment.

Your responsibilities will encompass training and support for business collaborators and families, ensuring a productive experience during workplace placements, and actively seeking job opportunities both within and beyond the host organizations.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing tailored support for interns during their work placements or employment.
  • Engaging in job coaching and mentoring, while identifying suitable job placements and any necessary assistive technologies.
  • Collaborating with placement managers and staff to deliver training on disability awareness.
  • Organizing events such as orientations, informational sessions, and graduation ceremonies.
  • Working alongside team members to create internal and external marketing materials, including newsletters, website content, community presentations, and updates.
  • Maintaining communication with job coaches, employers, family members, and agency partners, including local authorities and SEND Advisers.
  • Delivering training to interns in essential areas such as personal hygiene, communication skills, interview techniques, and appropriate workplace behavior.
  • Completing all necessary job coaching documentation accurately.
  • Contributing to a safe and welcoming learning environment, ensuring that the services provided to interns are effective and secure.

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 6 or equivalent in Careers Education and Guidance, Youth and Community Work, or Social Care (or working towards), along with an ILM Level 5 coaching award.

Skills:

  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, utilizing various IT tools to engage with a diverse audience, including senior management, professionals, young individuals, and their families.
