Cost Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Manager to join our team at Turner & Townsend Group. As a key member of our cost management team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality cost management services to our clients.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage commissions of varying sizes, ensuring timely and efficient delivery
- Assist in feasibility studies and procurement reports
- Estimate and cost plan projects, utilizing relevant cost management tools and services
- Tender and procure projects, including managing pre-qualification stages and producing contractual documents
- Conduct contract administration, dealing with post-contract cost variances and change control processes
- Take personal responsibility for cost checks and valuations on larger projects
- Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to clients
- Negotiate and agree final accounts
- Interface with clients, project managers, and other consultants at all project stages
- Collaborate with our project management team during project delivery
- Lead cost management teams where necessary
- Utilize our digital cost management tools and services
- Implement our Embodied Carbon Calculator to produce carbon footprint reports
- Support the execution of our NewLeaf strategy
- Manage internal fees, job costing, and resourcing requirements
Marketing and Business Development
- Identify opportunities to develop new business with existing clients
- Develop and maintain a professional network of peers and potential clients
- Assist in bid documentation production
- Identify ways to improve cost management procedures
- Participate in extracurricular activities, including external groups and networking events
Internal Management Accountabilities
- Knowledge management: Ensure key information and learning are input into our internal database
- Process improvement: Identify ways to improve internal systems and processes
- Support, develop, and mentor junior staff members
Reporting
Cost Managers will report to Senior Cost Managers or Associate Directors, depending on the context.
Key Performance Indicators
- Commissions are managed to the right quality standards and completed efficiently and on time
- Service delivery on commissions meets the conditions of appointment
- Good relationships are developed with clients and cross-functional team members
- Cost Managers work effectively as part of the cost management team
- Opportunities are identified to develop new business with existing clients
- Margins are tracked on all commissions
- Key information and data are effectively cascaded and retained
The Ideal Candidate

- Working towards or recently achieved Chartered Status

- Ability to collaborate and build relationships across the business
- Ability to work well under pressure
Qualifications
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality cost management services across the full project lifecycle
- Degree or HNC level qualification
- Professionally qualified (RICS or similar)
