Job Description

Job Title: Associate Chief Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary:

The Transformation Unit is seeking an experienced and skilled Associate Chief Pharmacy Technician to lead the strategic and operational direction of Patient Services across our hospitals. As a key member of the Pharmacy team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve patient care and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Strategic Plans: Develop and implement strategic plans to improve patient services and care, in line with the Trust's objectives and priorities.
  • Operational Leadership: Provide operational leadership and direction to the Patient Services team, ensuring that services are delivered to a high standard and in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Performance Monitoring and Quality Improvement: Monitor performance and quality of patient services, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Leadership and Change Management: Provide leadership and change management skills to engage and motivate staff, and to deliver a high-quality, efficient, and modern service to patients and clinical services.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all relevant legislation and regulation is complied with, and that medicines safety and governance compliant practice is maintained within the dispensaries.
  • Education and Training: Develop and implement education and training strategies for pharmacy technicians and pharmacy assistants, to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality patient services.

Requirements:

  • Registered Technician with GPHC: Must be a registered technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPHC).
  • Mandatory CPD: Must have completed mandatory continuing professional development (CPD) to maintain fitness to practice.
  • Operational and Project Management Experience: Must have operational and project management experience, with a proven track record of delivering patient services excellence across multiple sites.
  • Leadership and Change Management Skills: Must have leadership and change management skills, with the ability to engage and motivate staff, and to deliver a high-quality, efficient, and modern service to patients and clinical services.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Must have knowledge of all relevant legislation and regulation, and be able to ensure that medicines safety and governance compliant practice is maintained within the dispensaries.
