Employee Relations Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join our People team at Connells Group, a leading estate agency and property services provider in the UK. As an ER Specialist, you will play a critical role in delivering a first-class customer-focused Employee Relations service by providing specialist support and advice to colleagues throughout our business.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is already in an advisory position, either in Employee Relations or Human Resources, and wants to develop their career further. You will be working closely with our ER team to provide diverse support, including coaching line managers on how to approach difficult conversations and providing expert input on challenging cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employee Relations Query Resolution: Resolve and respond to employee relations-related queries escalated from the ER Advisory team or via the ER Manager, ensuring all query resolutions are captured and resolved.
- Collaboration and Support: Work closely with the ER Specialists and ER Advisory team to apply relevant employee relations approaches and solutions, in line with our ER/People support model, to provide clarity and support to our managers, business leaders, and teams.
- Professional Coaching and Advice: Consistently deliver a professional and proactive approach, enabling managers to achieve their objectives through coaching and the provision of ER advice that is prompt, persuasive, effective, and evaluates risk. This will include areas such as performance management, disciplinary procedures, grievances, absence management, diversity, tribunals, and more.
- Training and Development: Provide training to the ER Advisors, being a role model and offering support and guidance where appropriate.
- Policy Implementation: Support changes to and/or the implementation of any new ER policies and procedures, working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure full understanding and embedding of new ways of working.
- Service Improvement: Proactively identify trends and opportunities to improve the ER support and service for our people, working collaboratively with colleagues to use this insight to evolve and develop ER approaches and solutions.
- Employment Tribunal Support: Work closely with colleagues in the People Team and business teams for Employment Tribunal cases, gathering information, managing, and coordinating all activity required throughout the process.
- Group-Wide Projects: Work in collaboration with our Group Organizational Change Team on Group-wide project implementation.
- Values and Behaviours: Act as a visible advocate and role model, creating an environment where our values are consistently demonstrated through your own and colleague's behaviours.
We are looking for someone with Employee Relations case management experience, including disciplinary procedures, grievances, performance management, absence, ill health, flexible working, redundancy, contractual changes, TUPE, and management of Employment Tribunal Claims.
