Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join our People team at Connells Group. As an Employee Relations Specialist, you will play a critical role in delivering a first-class customer-focused Employee Relations service by providing specialist support and advice to colleagues throughout our business.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is already in an advisory position, either in Employee Relations or HR, and wants to develop their career further. You will be responsible for providing diverse support, including coaching line managers on how to approach difficult conversations and providing expert input on challenging cases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resolving and responding to employee relations-related queries escalated from the ER Advisory team or via the ER Manager, ensuring all query resolutions are captured and resolved.
  • Working closely with the other ER Specialists and ER Advisory team to apply relevant employee relations approaches and solutions, in line with our ER/People support model, to provide clarity and support to our Managers, business leaders, and teams.
  • Consistently delivering a professional and proactive approach, enabling managers to achieve their objectives through coaching and the provision of ER advice that is prompt, persuasive, effective, and evaluates risk.
  • Providing training to the ER Advisors, being a role model, and offering support and guidance where appropriate.
  • Supporting changes to and/or the implementation of any new ER policies and procedures.
  • Working in collaboration with our Group Organizational Change Team on Group-wide project implementation.

Requirements:

  • Employee Relations case management experience, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence, ill health, flexible working, redundancy, contractual changes, TUPE, and management of Employment Tribunal Claims.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
