About the Team

The Technology, Innovation and Customer Experience team is responsible for the technical and operational delivery for attendees and exhibitors at GSMA events, focusing on registration systems, event apps, and onsite delivery.

As a global group of high-performance event specialists, we work collectively to deliver events ranging from 300 to over 100,000 attendees across all regions of the world.

About the Role

The Event Registration/Technology Manager will report to the Head of Technology, Events and hold a pivotal position supporting existing teams in the full life cycle of GSMA events, from pre-event planning through to onsite delivery.

The successful candidate will work closely with the existing team and be the main point of contact across the business for assigned projects/work streams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Coordinate and schedule project meetings, manage project milestones, deliverables, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely completion.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and own working relationships to fully support project teams during analysis and planning stages, brief clients on digital platform functionality, and ensure delivery of products and services.
  • Configure and set up event registration systems, including pass configuration and email/system content.
  • Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) - create test plans, work with internal stakeholders to ensure systems are signed off against agreed scope of work.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the event technology platform by providing support with gathering business requirements, documenting process flows, and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Registration Logistical & Operational Planning: Dimensioning of onsite services, collateral design & ordering, signage planning, onsite scanning, onsite staff training, and risk & contingency planning.
  • Create and maintain process handling: onsite processes and FAQs, and documents for digital onboarding of customers into platforms.
  • Provide analytical support through reporting and data insights.
  • Budgeting for areas of assigned responsibility.
  • Contribution to roadmap and planning meetings.

About You

  • Demonstrable experience in event registration with technical and operational responsibilities.
  • International event, conference, or trade show experience as an organizer.
  • Experience configuring and delivering event technology, including registration systems, virtual event platforms, event apps, and SaaS platforms.
  • Operational/logistical event planning experience, including build, throughput analysis, signage, temporary staff scheduling, collateral design, and delivery.
  • Supplier management experience.
  • Project Management skills, ideally with a recognized qualification.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex processes to non-event or technical colleagues.
  • Awareness of data privacy, GDPR, and information security principles.
  • Experience in at least some of the following tools: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel (Advanced), data flow/modeling tools, and PM tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure, upholding excellent attention to detail, with a self-starter attitude to work, able to take initiative, problem-solve, and work autonomously to drive projects forward.
  • Willingness, ability, and desire to travel internationally, sometimes for extended periods.
