About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team at Virgin Atlantic. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information and reporting to support effective decision-making across our joint business with Virgin Red.

The successful candidate will be an expert user of operational and reporting systems, with a deep understanding of commercial issues, financial processes, risks, and controls affecting our Flying Club and the wider Virgin Red loyalty ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accountable for completing accounting journals and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating variances, and providing supplementary analysis.
  • Ensure controls and processes are captured to meet audit standards, highlighting risks and inconsistencies to management.
  • Ensure controls around reporting and metrics operate effectively, and all output is of the highest quality.
  • Be a key contact to support stakeholders across the loyalty proposition, both internally and externally.
  • Work with the wider finance teams to action opportunities for automation and ensure efficiency improvements are pushed through to delivery.
  • Be a loyalty system and process subject matter expert, advising on commercial or business changes to ensure all systems changes are implemented such that finance processes continue to provide accurate and timely information.
  • Continuously build and improve understanding of the loyalty ecosystem and commercial proposition.
  • Review information and trends to ensure that the output of processes achieves the desired results.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience within a similar accounting role analyzing and interpreting data with both short-term and long-term views.
  • Ability to prioritize work, work under pressure, and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills to enable collaborative working at all levels.
  • Excellent data analysis skills using available tools, including MS Office skills with the ability to manipulate large volumes of data in Excel and draw conclusions.
  • Good systems and process knowledge (experience with TM1/RPA/Oracle an advantage).
  • Qualified or partially qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
