Vacancy Overview: Simpson Judge Ltd is seeking an experienced and dynamic private law solicitor to join our busy family department in Chester.

Job Role: As a Family Private Law Solicitor, you will be responsible for running a caseload of divorce/finance and children files, working independently and as part of a team to provide excellent client service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of private family law cases, including divorce, finance, and children matters
  • Provide support and training to junior team members as required
  • Supervise and mentor junior solicitors to ensure high-quality work and client satisfaction
  • Contribute to the development of the family department, including identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes
  • Attend court hearings and other meetings as required, representing the firm and its clients

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience in private family law
  • Strong background in finances, children, and advocacy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple cases simultaneously
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Panel accreditation in family law (desirable but not essential)
