Role Overview

This position is a fixed-term contract for 6-9 months within the Human Resources department. The role involves collaborating with HR and business managers to deliver a proactive employee relations strategy. As a trusted advisor, you will provide pragmatic guidance on Employee Relations (ER) matters, ensuring consistent and clear communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee internal processes related to disciplinary actions and formal grievances, including the preparation and review of case documentation, collaboration with independent hearing officers, and drafting outcome letters.
  • Offer guidance to HR Business Partners on comprehensive employee relations issues, such as performance improvement plans, conduct matters, redundancies, settlement agreements, exit discussions, and managing sickness absence.
  • Ensure consistency in processes and outcomes when addressing employee-related risks through the documentation and review of toolkits and guidance.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions for independent hearing officers, HR Business Partners, managers, and employees.
  • Provide support and resolution for complex ER matters to HR Business Partners, HR leadership, and business leaders.
  • Manage the relationship between TP ICAP and its employees, identifying key risks to the business and HR leadership.
  • Assist in policy development in alignment with best practices and legal requirements to support strategic objectives.
  • Facilitate internal committee meetings.
  • Promote a progressive workplace culture through effective management of ER cases.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance with functional boundaries, particularly with Compliance and Legal teams.
  • Provide regular updates to the HR global leadership team and oversee statistical reporting.
  • Collaborate with control partners on all aspects of conduct management.
  • Review management information related to breaches and trends, considering this data in conduct reviews.
Required Experience and Competencies
  • Strong understanding of employment law and its practical application in managing employee-related risks.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in addressing ER matters, including misconduct, grievances, health and wellbeing, performance management, and employment disputes within a Financial Services context.
  • Experience in managing business restructuring processes such as headcount reductions and office relocations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across various departments.
  • Personable and engaging demeanor, capable of delivering difficult messages with empathy.
  • Skilled in building relationships and networks to establish trust.
  • Proficient in resolving disagreements constructively.
  • Able to work with diverse groups and personalities.
  • Capable of synthesizing various strands of information while prioritizing policy adherence.
  • Comfortable in fast-paced or high-pressure environments.
  • Confident in interactions without being overbearing.
  • Maintains composure in challenging situations and handles feedback constructively.
