Job Overview

Bennett & Game Recruitment Limited is seeking a highly experienced Assistant Design Manager to join their team in Leeds. As a key member of the design team, you will be responsible for overseeing 4 teams and providing technical support to various sectors of the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work directly under the Design Manager to lead projects through the preconstruction design phase, producing designs and providing technical support through the construction phase.
  • Support tendering and developing construction methodology, including earth work stability and slope stability analysis.
  • Liaise with external consultants and provide technical expertise in underground structures, geotechnical, structures, tunnelling, and temporary works.
  • Collaborate with junior engineers to develop their skills and knowledge, and ensure compliance with CDM H&S regulations.
  • Apply Temporary works design principals in accordance with BS5975 standard and permanent work standards with design solutions in various structural systems.
Requirements
  • BEng or MEng level in Civil and/or Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Working towards chartership, such as the ICE or IStructE.
  • At least 10 years' experience in a similar role, with expertise in underground structures, geotechnical, structures, tunnelling, and temporary works.
  • Strong technical skills, including accomplished structural design skills and geotechnical knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.
