SEMH Teaching Assistant Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team in Basingstoke. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to pupils with SEMH needs, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Collaborate with teachers, educational psychologists, and other professionals to develop and implement effective support plans.
  • Assist with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support pupils with challenging behaviors, using positive behavior management techniques and strategies.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and procedures related to SEMH support.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children or young adults with SEMH needs.
  • Strong knowledge of child development, behavior management, and educational psychology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • DBS clearance and the right to work in the UK.
