Security Officer

OCS Group is seeking a skilled Security Officer to join our team at a prestigious Scientific Research Institute in Hinxton, Cambridgeshire. As a Security Officer, you will provide a professional and efficient security service to the campus clients and visitors, demonstrating exceptional customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct internal and external foot patrols to ensure the safety and security of the campus.
- Monitor access control, CCTV, and alarm systems from the control room.
- Ensure all procedures, site instructions, and SOPs are followed at all times.
- Manage site entry, car park barrier control, and traffic management.
- Provide after-hours reception duties.
- Write accurate reports using computer-based software.
- SIA Licence (manned guarding or door supervisor) is essential, and a CCTV Licence is desirable.
- Previous security experience (minimum 3 years) is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal English are required.
- A smart and professional appearance, good observational skills, and customer service skills are essential.
- The ability to use your own initiative and work as part of a diverse team is necessary.
- Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
- A clean UK Driver's Licence and own reliable transport are essential, as public transport is not available in the area.
- Physical capability to undertake foot patrols totalling 15,000 steps per shift is required.
- Full uniform and PPE are provided.
