The Children, Young People and Families Directorate at Doncaster City Council is expanding to meet the needs of our diverse community. We are seeking a skilled School Improvement Advisor (Governance) to join our team.
The successful candidate will develop school governance and networked communities of practice, providing professional advice and guidance to school governing bodies. They will ensure rigorous monitoring and effective delivery of statutory functions, enabling devolved governance through policy, high-quality professional development, complaint management, self-evaluation, performance, and impact planning and interventions.
Candidates must be confident in using data, have a good knowledge of related legislation and guidance, and be able to influence and challenge appropriately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective school governance strategies
- Provide professional advice and guidance to school governing bodies
- Ensure rigorous monitoring and effective delivery of statutory functions
- Enable devolved governance through policy and professional development
- Manage complaints and conduct self-evaluation
- Plan and implement performance and impact interventions
Requirements:
- Confidence in using data and related legislation and guidance
- Ability to influence and challenge appropriately
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
