Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced School Improvement Advisor (Governance) to join our team at Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council. As a key member of our Children, Young People and Families Directorate, you will play a vital role in developing school governance and networked communities of practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective governance strategies to support school improvement
  • Provide professional advice and guidance to school governing bodies on governance, policy, and performance management
  • Work with schools to develop and implement self-evaluation, performance, and impact plans
  • Support the development of high-quality professional development (CPD) programs for school staff
  • Manage complaints and ensure effective delivery of statutory functions
Requirements
  • Confidence in using data to inform decision-making
  • Good knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance
  • Ability to influence and challenge appropriately
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with schools and other stakeholders
