Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Improvement Advisor (Governance) to join our team at Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council. As a key member of our Children, Young People and Families Directorate, you will play a vital role in developing school governance and networked communities of practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective governance and networked communities of practice to support school improvement.
  • Provide professional advice and guidance to school governing bodies to ensure rigorous monitoring and effective delivery of statutory functions.
  • Support the development of high-quality professional development (CPD) programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of school staff.
  • Manage complaints and ensure effective delivery of self-evaluation, performance, and impact planning and interventions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to influence and challenge appropriately to drive school improvement.
Requirements
  • Confidence in using data to inform decision-making.
  • Good knowledge of related legislation and guidance.
  • Ability to influence and challenge appropriately to drive school improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
