About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Research Optometrist to join our team at Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Resident Optometrist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality optometry services to our patients, while also contributing to the development of our clinical research programs.

As a member of our Ophthalmology Department, you will work closely with Consultant Ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to provide specialist care to patients with a range of eye conditions. You will be responsible for conducting clinical audits, participating in research studies, and contributing to the development of new treatments and therapies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality optometry services to patients, including low vision assessments and refractive management
  • Conduct clinical audits and participate in research studies to improve patient outcomes
  • Work closely with Consultant Ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to provide specialist care
  • Contribute to the development of new treatments and therapies through clinical research and innovation
Requirements
  • College of Optometrists' Scheme for Registration complete
  • General Optical Council registration
  • Member of College of Optometrists
  • Experience managing a range of ophthalmic conditions
  • Experience working with adult and paediatric patients
  • Experience working as part of a team
