Job Title: Clinical Lead Nurse

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Clinical Lead Nurse to join our team at NHS. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance on improving all aspects of the Safe Staffing agenda.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead on delivering the Safe Staffing improvement plan by creating sustainable systems and governance processes that promote compliance with national and statutory safe staffing standards.
  • Ensure all policies related to Safer Staffing are maintained and updated.
  • Lead on the implementation of the trust rostering improvement project, challenging the status quo with authority to improve practice for the benefit of safe and supportive care.
  • Take the lead role for directorate engagement in the communication and implementation of safe staffing practice.
  • Monitor safer staffing levels and skill mix with the services managers to ensure safe and supportive care.
  • Lead on safer staffing establishment reviews with the Chief Nursing Officer and Deputy Chief Nursing Officer.
  • Support the development of safe staffing best practice by identifying learning needs within the directorates.
  • Facilitate the development of establishment review meetings within the directorates to enhance quality of rostering.
  • Lead on the biannual establishment review process for the bedded service and drive improvements through.
Requirements:
  • Current NMC registration first level nurse with evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Over 3 years senior nurse experience at band 7 or above.
  • Studied to Masters level or equivalent experience.
  • Project Management qualification and experience.
  • Five years post registration experience of which 3 years experience are at a senior level in nursing.
  • Previous experience of working in inpatient sectors.
  • Experience of professional leadership and/or training.
  • Experience of using healthroster systems and understanding good roster management.
  • Experience of leading and managing change.
