Membership Assistant Role

We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused individual to join our Membership Team as a Membership Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a professional membership organization and contribute to the delivery of exceptional membership services.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Deliver the end-to-end membership operational process, from potential leads to joining, renewing, reinstating, and upgrading/changing membership class.
  • Review, process, and elect applications for students, licentiates, affiliates, retired members, reinstatements, and resignations.
  • Administer membership operational policies, including leave of absence, concessionary fees, and ensuring membership requirements are met.
  • Deliver annual membership renewals to maximize member retention, including collection and processing of income, concessionary fees, outbound calling, and member resignations.
  • Work closely with the Membership Operations Manager to ensure accurate reconciliation and reporting for membership income.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to existing and potential new members, responding to written and telephone enquiries, and managing inboxes.
  • Maintain and update the membership database using Microsoft Dynamics.
Essential Skills:
  • A strong customer focus, able to communicate with members and stakeholders in a professional and effective manner.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Able to plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively, while working on own initiative.
  • Able to meet deadlines while ensuring a high quality of work.
  • Good IT skills, including experience of using databases/CRM systems.
  • Experience working in a membership organization (desirable).
  • An understanding of the operational complexities of a professional body (desirable).
