Position Overview:

We are in search of a dedicated and skilled professional with exceptional communication abilities to become a vital member of our Recoveries Team as a Litigation Handler.

Reporting Structure: You will report directly to the Recoveries Lead and will be primarily tasked with the proactive management of a portfolio of cases that are appropriate for recovery through litigation until resolution. You will serve as the essential liaison between our Panel Lawyers and the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the initial assessment of incoming litigation cases, ensuring that only those with significant value are referred to Lawyers.
  • Possess strong skills in evaluating liability prospects and risk assessments.
  • Proactively oversee a portfolio of litigated cases.
  • Adopt a forward-thinking approach to advance individual claims strategies and overall business objectives.
  • Act as the primary connection between Panel Lawyers and the organization.
  • Minimize indemnity expenditures through informed commercial decision-making.
  • Enhance recovery potential by employing a strategic approach to case management.
  • Apply accurate reserves in accordance with company policies.
  • Utilize strategic insights balanced with commercial judgment to determine whether to instruct Lawyers, manage cases internally, or pursue settlements.
  • Oversee a portfolio of litigated cases using virtual lawyer systems and adhere to procedural milestones aligned with business strategies.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into indemnity, liability, recoverability, and fraud for all cases.
  • Utilize schedules effectively to reduce hire duration and indemnity costs.
  • Assist with various tasks as required by the business.

  • A persuasive and confident communicator capable of managing diverse portfolios.
  • Strong practical understanding of Civil Procedure Rules.
  • Ability to take initiative and explore all avenues to secure optimal outcomes for the organization.
  • A self-motivated individual who excels both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
