Job Purpose & Objectives
To effectively receive and administer the legislative documents to meet procedures for the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS)
• To advise and provide guidance to ICB COP DOLS Team on the correct procedures for this statutory responsibility, ensuring accurate completion of forms and paperwork.
• Ensure that the correct forms and paperwork (electronic) are appropriately completed and stored for each Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards referral, adhering to data protection regulations.
• Able to work within the confines of a complex statutory process and timescales, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
• To produce statistical/written reports for executive committee and NHSE requirements, providing insights into process efficiency.
• To be the first point of contact for all queries regarding ICB CHC COP/DOLs, providing expert guidance and support.
• To provide guidance on relevant forms and refer on to COP DOLs Officers where there are complex nature or require advice or guidance about the legislation, ensuring seamless communication.
• To receive and scrutinise referrals, and negotiate for errors or incomplete forms to be corrected, maintaining high standards of quality.
• Set up an electronic record, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
• Complete the demographics for relevant forms, adhering to data protection regulations.
• Enter service user details on relevant databases and case recording system i.e. Broadcare, maintaining confidentiality.
• Send allocations out to Best Interest Assessors and Mental Health Assessors, ensuring timely communication.
