Job Title: Executive Chef Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef Assistant to join our team at The Sonas Hotel Collection. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of quality, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Chef in planning and directing kitchen operations, including quality control, standards, and cleanliness.
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef and hotel management team to ensure the smooth running of kitchen operations, monitoring business levels and managing budgeted departmental costs.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of kitchen policies and procedures.
  • Lead by example, promoting a positive and productive work environment, and ensuring the highest standards of customer service.
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of kitchen staff, and contribute to the development of their skills and knowledge.
  • Monitor and control kitchen costs, including stock levels and inventory management.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new menu ideas and concepts.
  • Deputise for the Executive Chef in their absence.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-end hotel or restaurant environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent culinary skills, with a passion for innovation and creativity.
  • Ability to work under pressure, with a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage budgets and control costs.
