Job Title: Autism Support Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Autism Support Assistant to join our team at a fantastic Sunderland primary school. The ideal candidate will have a passion for assisting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and be able to work effectively as part of a team within the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 support to students with ASD, promoting independence and personal development.
  • Work coherently with teachers to provide support for students with SEN.
  • Have a strong understanding of ASD and be able to adapt to the needs of each student.
  • Be enthusiastic and proactive in the classroom, promoting a positive learning environment.
  • Have experience working with students who have barriers to learning, including ASD, ADHD, PMLD, VI, and HI.
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualifications and training in SEN or ASD.
  • Experience working in an SEN school setting or social care.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate with teachers and other staff members.
  • Passion for assisting students with ASD and promoting their independence and personal development.

We are looking for individuals who are available both full-time and part-time. All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
