About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Monitoring and Evaluation professional to join our team at Connected Places Catapult. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the Monitoring and Evaluation of our activities to demonstrate the return on investment from our programmes to key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Monitoring and Evaluation framework for our programmes, aligning with existing processes and best practices.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to foster collaboration across stakeholders, fostering a culture of innovation and impact.
  • Design and implement measurement templates to capture outputs and outcomes related to businesses supported under our programmes.
  • Collect and analyze data to evidence, articulate, and map the outputs and outcomes of our activities, providing insights for programme improvement.
  • Develop and deliver impact assessment workshops and toolkits for businesses supported by our programmes.
  • Act as an ambassador for Monitoring and Evaluation, promoting its importance and role in supporting the Catapult to demonstrate return on investment.
  • Develop evidence-based lessons to inform improvements to data collection and processes.
  • Communicate programme achievements through compelling impact case studies, showcasing the value of our work.
  • Support programme governance and reporting, working closely with the Programme Manager.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications and experience in Monitoring and Evaluation.
  • Demonstrable ability to support colleagues to understand and buy into the merits of monitoring and evaluation.
  • Expertise in implementing metrics to support impact evaluation.
  • Ability to understand funder-led evaluation requirements and confidence to work collaboratively with evaluation teams.
  • Strong understanding of evaluation best practice and experience of developing evaluation plans.
  • Experience of leading social, economic, or environmental impact assessments.
  • Ability to understand Logic Models and adapt them to measure short-term and long-term changes.
  • Experience of using qualitative and quantitative data to demonstrate impact.
  • Ability to write reports and communicate outcomes in an engaging and compelling way.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and technical skills.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrating professionalism, resilience, and self-awareness, with a commitment to acting in a professional manner.
