In this essential position within our Policy division, you will work in close collaboration with policy leaders, our research and statistics team, and our strategic planning team to design, execute, and learn from the evaluation of gambling policy impacts.
Your Responsibilities
As the Policy Evaluation Manager, you will be responsible for creating, developing, and executing evaluation strategies to assess the effectiveness of our policy initiatives. A significant focus will be on evaluating policy modifications stemming from the Government's White Paper - High Stakes: Gambling Reform for the Digital Age - and guiding the Gambling Commission's long-term approach to policy evaluation.
Key Duties:
• Evaluation Frameworks: Ensure the clear and effective implementation of our evaluation frameworks, capturing and applying insights to inform future policy advancements.
• Project Management: Strategically plan, design, procure, and oversee evaluation projects, utilizing critical thinking to devise innovative solutions to intricate challenges.
• Collaborative Engagement: Foster robust working relationships both internally and externally, collaborating with colleagues in Policy, Research and Statistics, Programme Management Office, Communications, and external partners.
• Effective Communication: Generate high-quality reports, presentations, and other materials, effectively conveying findings to diverse audiences.
Candidate Profile
To excel in this position, you will require:
• Expertise in Evaluation: Proficiency in various evaluation frameworks and methodologies, with a track record of developing and implementing evaluation strategies in complex settings.
• Stakeholder Management: Skills in stakeholder mapping and engagement, with a proven history of successfully managing relationships.
• Organizational Proficiency: Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deliverables effectively.
• Communication Skills: Experience in crafting concise and coherent communications for evaluation outputs.
• Procurement and Contract Oversight: Background in procurement and contract management.
• Leadership Capabilities: Ability to mobilize, inspire, guide, and instruct multidisciplinary teams while influencing senior stakeholders.
Desirable Qualifications:
• Experience in a policy and/or regulatory context.
• Familiarity with matrix management structures.
• Skills in budget management.

In addition to a competitive salary of £43,139, the Gambling Commission contributes £11,647 towards your membership in the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
