Job Title: Second Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Second Chef to join our team at Crooton. As a Second Chef, you will play a key role in supporting the Head Chef in creating nutritious and delicious meals for our residents.

About the Role:

As a Second Chef, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in menu development, managing the kitchen in their absence, and working with fresh produce to deliver high-quality dishes. You will also be responsible for creating a warm and welcoming environment in the kitchen and working within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Head Chef in menu development and implementation
  • Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence
  • Work with fresh produce to deliver high-quality dishes
  • Create a warm and welcoming environment in the kitchen
  • Work within budget and manage stock control
Requirements:
  • City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent qualification
  • Good understanding of nutrition and HACCP
  • Experience of working with fresh seasonal food
  • Ability to create a warm and welcoming environment
  • Confidence in engaging with residents to create appetising and nutritious menus
