About the Role:

The Supply Desk is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher of English to join a well-regarded secondary school in Brighton. As a key member of the school's English department, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and enthusiastic lessons to primarily Key Stage 3 and 4 students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in English and English Literature, aligned with the National Curriculum and the school's teaching framework.
  • Contribute to the school's excellent academic performance by achieving high attainment in results.
  • Develop and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment, fostering strong relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay up-to-date with curriculum developments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant subject (e.g., English, Education, Linguistics).
  • Recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS) is an advantage.
  • Recent experience teaching in UK schools, with a proven track record of high attainment in results.
  • Excellent classroom management and rapport-building skills, with the ability to engage students and promote a positive learning environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
