About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Hygiene Manager to join our team at KatKin. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and food safety across our manufacturing site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a night shift hygiene team to ensure the correct cleaning and sanitization methods are in place to support the site's standards.
  • Develop and implement strategic sanitation programs, policies, plans, and processes to ensure sanitary performance meets company standards and supports Food Safety requirements.
  • Manage annual sanitation plans, budgets, and performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee sanitation chemical supply and inventory management.
  • Ensure the plant is cleaned daily and ready for production on time.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by implementing Health and Safety programs, raising awareness for chemical handling and equipment operation, and providing Tag out Lock out training.
  • Implement company food safety guidelines daily.
  • Maintain good communication with subordinates, peers, and other members of management.
  • Train and set safety goals for the Hygiene crew.
  • Participate in audits, facility inspections, and coordinate pre-operational inspections with QC Management.
  • Agree on, set, and work towards KPIs and targets, ensuring all cleaning is completed to the highest standard.
  • Provide management reports as required.
  • Supervise post-cleaning checks to ensure all cleaning is carried out to the highest quality, consistency, and food safety standards.
  • Maintain and develop the company's hygiene documentation to meet customer and auditing bodies' requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene standards and review relevant documentation with auditors during customer, regulatory, and site internal hygiene audits.
  • Ensure hygiene and waste removal is completed to the required standard in all areas of the site.
  • Deliver the highest standards in pest control and ongoing improvements with our external contractor.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a high-care chilled/frozen meat food hygiene management role.
  • Proven track record of maintaining and improving high standards of hygiene.
  • Good working knowledge of health and safety/food safety systems and legislation (e.g., Advanced Food Hygiene, COSHH, and IOSH).
  • Relevant hygiene qualifications and training: Food Safety and Hygiene Level 3 minimum, HACCP Level 3 minimum, COSHH Level 3 minimum, and Listeria, Micro awareness knowledge.
  • Good understanding of cleaning chemicals, including their storage and usage.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with various teams (Technical, Production, Engineering, and Quality).
  • Strong organizational skills and effective communication.
