Position Overview

In the realm of cement production, a significant contributor to global CO2 emissions, Ecocem is pioneering a transformative approach towards low carbon cement solutions. Our goal is to achieve a remarkable 50% reduction in CO2 emissions from cement by the year 2030. To support our ambitious growth trajectory, we are seeking a Logistics Operations Manager.

As the Logistics Operations Manager, you will oversee the safe, efficient, and effective management of our road transport operations, facilitating all aspects of our business across the UK and Ireland. Collaborating closely with your colleagues, you will assess our current operations, contribute to strategic planning, and implement progressive steps towards future growth, while ensuring a sustainable transport function that aligns with Ecocem's global objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing Road Transport Operations across the UK and Ireland, including financial reporting and invoicing management.
  • Leading a small team and supervising three weighbridge locations.
  • Negotiating contracts and evaluating the performance of haulage providers, with a focus on safety standards.
  • Enhancing operational processes to ensure safety, simplicity, and reliability.
  • Managing inventory control across three sites in collaboration with departmental leaders and relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Possession of a degree or vocational certification, including an International Transport Managers CPC.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in transport management, ideally within the construction sector.
  • Self-driven with a strong focus on safety and the ability to navigate the fast-paced nature of transport operations.
  • Proficient in IT applications such as Excel, Word, MS Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with Sage is a plus but not mandatory.
