About the Role: As a Transport Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of Transport Team Leaders, Administrators, Drivers, and Shunters to ensure maximum productivity levels and meet targets and deadlines. You will work closely with the management team to develop and implement strategies to improve site transport and logistics operations, ensuring legislative compliance and meeting budgetary and financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of transport professionals to achieve maximum productivity and meet targets and deadlines
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve site transport and logistics operations
  • Ensure legislative compliance with regards to driver health and safety, tachograph management, and equipment management
  • Work closely with the management team to meet budgetary and financial goals
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and make recommendations for improvement

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Transport Manager or Supervisor in a fast-paced transport operation, ideally within a unionized environment
  • National or International Freight CPC qualification
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to deliver quality results in a timely manner
  • High degree of flexibility and ability to work as part of a team
  • Previous experience of leading a transport team, with the ability to develop individuals and ensure they are motivated to achieve their performance outputs and KPIs
