About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Safety Inspector to join our team. As an internal hazards specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of nuclear facilities across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and mitigate internal hazards, including fires, flooding, and explosions, to protect plant and safety equipment.
  • Review and evaluate safety cases to ensure they adequately consider potential internal hazards and provide suitable measures to prevent them.
  • Collaborate with site operators to implement safety solutions and ensure compliance with relevant safety standards.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in complex safety systems and design principles.
  • Contribute to the development of regulatory policies and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Degree-level qualification in engineering, physical sciences, mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Chartered membership of a relevant professional institution or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in internal hazards within the nuclear industry or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable background in safety case production, assessment, and physical inspection.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant safety standards and design principles.
