We are a fast-growing Care Software start-up in the UK, dedicated to digitising the social care sector and improving the quality of care for vulnerable people. Our mission is to revolutionise the way care is delivered, and we're looking for a talented Tech Lead to join our team.

The Role

We are seeking a seasoned Tech Lead to take full technical ownership of our Care Management platform, used by thousands of carers to record millions of care notes every week. As a Tech Lead, you will be responsible for fostering a culture of engineering excellence, working closely with the product owner and designer to refine new ideas, and mentoring junior developers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take technical ownership of our Care Management platform
  • Foster a culture of engineering excellence
  • Work closely with the product owner and designer to refine new ideas
  • Mentor and coach junior developers
  • Be prepared to be hands-on coding 50-70% of the time
Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional experience as a software engineer
  • Deep knowledge of the MERN stack (Mongo, Express, React, Node)
  • Experience in backend technologies such as NodeJS, ExpressJS, MongoDB Atlas, Firebase, and Sentry
  • Experience in frontend technologies such as Typescript, React, and React Native
  • Experience in testing frameworks such as Jest and Cypress
  • Experience in AWS Elastic Beanstalk, VPC networking, and CloudWatch
  • Experience in CI/CD pipelines using Docker and GitLab CI
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
  • Experience in line management and leading a team
  • Strong portfolio project showcasing clean and testable code
