Role Responsibilities
As a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist, you will:
  • Lead the development and implementation of risk assessment and management protocols.
  • Oversee clinical governance initiatives to ensure the highest standards of care.
  • Supervise documentation for Mental Health Act tribunals and participate in hearings.
  • Be part of a 1 in 7 telephone second on-call rota.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Full GMC registration on the Specialist Register for Forensic Psychiatry or General Adult Psychiatry.
  • MBBS or equivalent qualification.
  • Extensive experience in Forensic or General Adult Psychiatry.
  • Strong understanding of the Mental Health Act and related legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient assessment and documentation.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and quality improvement.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
