About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Second Miller to join our team at our Avonmouth site. As a Second Miller, you will play a critical role in ensuring the mill produces flour that meets the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse flour production data and work with the Shift Miller to ensure quality parameters are met.
  • Review production plans and schedules to ensure efficient flour transfers and testing.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers to provide high-level service.
  • Prepare customer information and certificates as required.
  • Operate the weighbridge and silo wheat systems as needed.
  • Conduct accurate stock counts and report on commodity levels.
  • Work with the Shift Miller to achieve mill and site KPIs.
  • Identify and report mechanically failing plant items and perform minor repairs.
  • Undertake sifter repairs as necessary.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and suggest solutions.
  • Ensure a smooth handover to the next shift and communicate any unusual situations.
  • Work within company safety and health guidelines and promote a culture of compliance.

About You

  • C&G in Flour Milling course (or in the process of completing it).
  • Experience working on shifts in a flour mill.
