Your Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Second Miller to join our team at the Avonmouth site. The main purpose of this role is to ensure the mill produces high-quality flour that meets the specified parameters. Working within food safety and hygiene guidelines, you will adhere to Health & Safety policies and assist the Shift Miller in ensuring site continuity.
Your Responsibilities

• Analyse the flour being milled and work with the Shift Miller to ensure it meets the quality specifications.
• Review production data, plan, transfer, and analyse flour transfers and testing to ensure a high level of quality.
• Ensure effective communication for a high level of customer service (internal & external).
• Prepare customer information and certificates as required.
• Operate the weighbridge when necessary.
• Operate the silo wheat systems and wheat feed out-loading when required.
• Provide an accurate stock count and reporting for all commodities.
• Work to ensure the mill/site KPIs are achieved (e.g., IPM & MP2 work orders as a routine).
• Assist the Shift Miller in setting the mill and screen room machinery to the specified settings.
• Identify mechanically failing items of plant and report them to the engineering department.
• Undertake sifter repairs as necessary.
• Identify shortcomings within the plant and suggest improvements.
• Hand over to the next shift in a proper and clean state, communicating any unusual situations to the next Second Miller.
• Work within the Company Safety and Health guidelines and promote the policy.
• Ensure all food safety compliance requirements are maintained within the plant.
• Instruct and support contractors on site as required.

Your Profile

• City & Guilds in Flour Milling course (or in the process of completing it).
• Experience on shifts in a flour mill.
