Job Title: Planning and Scheduling Manager – Logistics

Location: Durrington – Hybrid

Hours: Monday to Friday

Salary: £50,000

Southern Water is seeking a skilled Planning & Scheduling Manager to lead a team of professionals in driving operational excellence across our water network and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of planners and schedulers, ensuring they receive regular appraisals, performance management, and tailored training.
  • Capacity Planning: Oversee forecasting, capacity planning, and provide support in cross-functional discussions to optimize resource allocation.
  • Performance Analysis: Analyze performance against service standards, conducting root cause analysis to improve team efficiency and drive performance.
  • Resource Coordination: Ensure smooth material and equipment movement across Southern Water, optimizing resource allocation.
  • Incident Response: Play a critical role in Southern Water's operational incident response rota, supporting 24/7 incident resolution.
  • Reporting & KPIs: Present weekly and monthly reports highlighting service delivery standards and improvement areas.

Requirements:

  • Geographical Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of Southern and South East UK (Hampshire, Sussex, Kent)
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-centric mindset
  • Stakeholder Management: Excellent stakeholder and people management abilities
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Technical: Programme management, leadership of large teams, change management, and continuous improvement
  • Risk & Compliance: Familiarity with Southern Water compliance standards
  • Qualifications: Essential: Experience in back-office operations management and operational performance improvement Desirable: PRINCE2 certification or equivalent
