Working Hours: 1510 hours annually (part-time). This position is structured around annualized hours, meaning your monthly working hours may fluctuate, but your salary will be distributed in 12 equal payments throughout the year.
Compensation: £23,166 per year pro rata.
Contract Type: Permanent.

Work Environment

Reporting to the Head Chef, you will be stationed at Berrington Hall, a stunning Neo-Classical mansion from the late 18th Century. The property has gained recognition for showcasing contemporary art projects, both within the mansion and across the grounds. In addition to the mansion and gardens, you will find a second-hand bookshop and a charming tea-room.

Your Responsibilities

As a Culinary Specialist, your primary focus will be in the kitchen, where you will assist in preparing and presenting exquisite meals from scratch using fresh, seasonal ingredients. Your culinary creations will be served directly to our visitors. Following the guidelines of our 'National Trust Cookbook', you will measure, mix, and prepare ingredients. Additionally, you will assist with deliveries and maintain a clean kitchen environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations for smooth service operations. We will provide you with a tailored induction, training in allergens and food safety, and any necessary mentoring to support your role.
