Position Overview: The role of a Chef in a care home involves being an integral part of a dedicated team that prepares and serves nutritious meals tailored to the needs of residents. A strong understanding of dietary requirements, particularly for the elderly, is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Minimum of 12 months experience in a leadership culinary role.
- Possession of culinary certifications or extensive experience in preparing traditional English cuisine and managing kitchen operations.
- Ability to prepare meals for groups of 30 or more individuals simultaneously.
- Expertise in utilizing fresh ingredients to create authentic English dishes.
- Availability to work flexible hours from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
- Capability to adjust meals on the spot based on residents' preferences.
- Willingness to undergo IDDSI training, which will be provided.
- Experience working alongside one or two kitchen assistants.
- Skills in baking a variety of cakes and pastries.
Additional Requirements:
- Experience in a catering environment is preferred.
- Openness to collaborating with an agency.
- Right to work in the UK with a minimum of 12 months experience in a care setting.
- Possession of an Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for one.
- Ability to work flexible hours weekly.
