Job Overview:

The Global Process Owner (GPO) for Record to Report (R2R) plays a crucial role in overseeing the comprehensive management and ongoing enhancement of the R2R process throughout the organization. This position is essential for ensuring that financial documentation is precise, timely, and adheres to regulatory standards, while also promoting efficiency and uniformity on a global scale. The GPO R2R will work in partnership with regional teams, finance leaders, and various stakeholders to refine R2R processes, implement best practices, and support overarching business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Leadership:
  • Oversee the global Record to Report process from inception, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies and objectives.
  • Establish and uphold R2R process standards, policies, and procedures across the organization.
  • Promote the standardization and harmonization of R2R processes globally, minimizing variations and inefficiencies.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify and execute initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency, accuracy, and speed of the R2R process.
  • Utilize technology, automation, and best practices to optimize the R2R process.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and leverage data-driven insights to foster process enhancements.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure R2R processes are compliant with relevant accounting standards, legal requirements, and internal policies.
  • Manage risks within the R2R process by implementing robust internal controls and governance.
  • Collaborate with audit teams to facilitate internal and external audits.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Serve as the primary contact for R2R-related matters across the organization.
  • Collaborate closely with regional finance teams, business units, and other GPOs to ensure process alignment and integration.
  • Provide leadership and direction to regional R2R teams, ensuring consistent application of processes and standards.
  • Technology and Systems:
  • Partner with IT and other relevant departments to ensure R2R systems and tools meet process requirements.
  • Drive the adoption of new technologies, such as ERP systems, to enhance R2R processes.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy in financial reporting systems.
  • Training and Development:
  • Design and implement training programs for R2R teams to ensure comprehension and adherence to global standards.
  • Mentor and coach regional R2R leads to cultivate a high-performing global R2R function.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and best practices, sharing knowledge across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA) is highly desirable.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance or accounting, focusing on Record to Report processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in a global or regional process owner role, managing and enhancing R2R processes.
  • Strong background in process improvement, change management, and project management.
  • Experience with large ERP systems (ideally SAP) and financial reporting tools.
  • Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills, capable of managing cross-functional teams in a global environment.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
  • Proficiency in financial systems, technology solutions, and process automation tools.
