At EMIS, we are seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner to become a vital part of our Commercial Finance division on a permanent basis.

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance – Projects, you will play an essential role within the commercial finance team, collaborating closely with our sales, commercial, and operational departments.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to engage in a diverse range of commercial finance activities, primarily focusing on delivering financial and commercial guidance on bids, tenders, contracts, and pricing strategies for our framework-related agreements. Additionally, you will assist with various ad-hoc commercial evaluations and corporate initiatives as needed, while also providing support to the finance team during peak periods such as month-end.

This role involves a hybrid working model, allowing you to work from our office one day a week and remotely for the remainder of the time.

Key Responsibilities:

This is a dynamic, end-to-end commercial finance position where you will be responsible for delivering proactive financial support to our operations, commercial, and sales teams throughout the bidding, contracting, and pricing processes.

As a Senior Finance Business Partner, you will engage and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders, providing revenue and profitability analyses, conducting sensitivity assessments, and identifying financial risks and opportunities to drive positive outcomes.

Additional key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing contracts and frameworks, offering insights on financial terms, including risks related to invoicing, payments, liabilities, and penalties.
  • Supporting the comprehensive review of various financial business processes and recommending enhancements and efficiencies.
  • Preparing a range of commercial evaluations.
  • Assisting with ad-hoc corporate projects.

Who You Are:

You are an experienced finance professional, either a qualified accountant or in the later stages of qualification. With a commercial mindset, you possess an inquisitive nature when analyzing data or contracts.

Building collaborative relationships within EMIS is crucial; you will work closely with non-financial colleagues while providing forecasting and detailed financial modeling reports.

In our fast-paced environment, the ability to manage competing demands and adapt to change is essential.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to grasp the broader context when necessary.
  • Experience in commercial finance, with a thorough understanding of pricing strategies and contracting.
  • Familiarity with conducting commercial evaluations.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including experience with complex modeling.
  • Qualified accountant (ACMA/ACA/ACCA) or part-qualified (later stages).
