Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to lead the establishment and management of a new care facility, specializing in the care of orphaned children within the UK health and social care sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of childcare regulations, experience in managing compliance with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), and NVQ training levels 2-5. This role involves setting up the care facility from scratch, ensuring high standards of care, and managing all operational aspects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Establish and manage a specialized care facility for orphaned children, ensuring compliance with CQC standards and regulations.
  2. Coordinate with architects, contractors, and suppliers to modify and equip the facility to meet regulatory and childcare requirements.
  3. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and care plans specifically tailored to the needs of orphaned children, in accordance with CQC standards.
  4. Ensure the care facility operates within legal and regulatory frameworks, including those governing childcare services.
  5. Prepare for and manage CQC inspections, focusing on compliance with childcare regulations.
  6. Oversee daily operations to ensure the provision of high-quality care and a nurturing environment for orphaned children.
  7. Recruit, train, and manage staff, including social workers, to deliver specialized care and support services effectively.
  8. Develop and manage budgets to ensure financial sustainability, considering revenue projections from government contributions and service fees.
  9. Implement cost-effective measures while maintaining high standards of care, understanding the financial constraints of social services.
  10. Establish strong relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, social workers, and community organizations involved in childcare.

Requirements:

  1. NVQ Level 2 - 5 in Health and Social Care or related field.
  2. Proven experience in managing a care facility or similar healthcare establishment, preferably with a focus on childcare.
  3. Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and standards applicable to childcare facilities.
  4. Understanding of financial management and budgeting in the context of social services.
