About the Team

The Fashion, Sports & Home Trade Marketing team operates in a vibrant and fast-paced setting. You will collaborate with a dynamic and agile group to bring forward innovative concepts, enhance the customer experience, respond to trade dynamics, support performance metrics, and develop onsite strategies for launching events and campaigns. This role serves as a vital link between categories, marketing, and various departments, nurturing robust relationships and ensuring smooth collaboration throughout the organization.

About the Role

Your primary responsibility will be to formulate and execute category trading strategies across Fashion, Sports, and Home to stimulate engagement and growth. This involves integrating all components of the Trading calendar and aligning with strategic partner brands. The position necessitates ongoing analysis of online trading metrics to assess and propose actions that optimize the customer experience, ensuring that customer-centricity remains at the forefront of our decision-making.

  • Formulating, enhancing, and executing activity plans
  • Evaluating online trading data to recommend strategies for boosting growth across essential digital metrics (traffic, click-through rates, conversion) - leveraging data to enhance efficiencies
  • Enhancing onsite conversion rates for links, products, and campaigns
  • Leading key weekly and monthly trading discussions to ensure the customer journey aligns with category strategies and competitive activities
  • Compiling and managing the category trading calendar with support from the Trading Manager, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives and key initiatives
  • Acting as a deputy for the Trade Manager in departmental meetings, ensuring the Fashion, Sports & Home perspective is adequately represented
  • Gaining a comprehensive understanding of key competitors in the Fashion, Sports & Home sector and suggesting necessary adjustments to plans as needed
  • Analyzing sales data, budgets, and evolving customer needs to propose plan modifications
  • Assisting in the development and execution of category strategies that align with The Very Group's overarching goals, managing the entire process
  • Leading a team of marketing executives to ensure timely delivery of all plans to industry-leading standards

About You

We seek a proactive and results-oriented Trading Lead to join our energetic team. You should possess a strong strategic mindset complemented by a passion for creative innovation, with the confidence to challenge conventional thinking and explore new ideas. Your ability to analyze data and identify opportunities will be essential in executing category trading strategies.

A proven history of establishing and maintaining robust working relationships with external strategic brand partners is crucial. Experience in leading a team within a high-energy environment is also required.
