About the Role: Ultimate Banking is in search of a dedicated Financial Risk Specialist to enhance our 2nd line of defence Risk team. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with the Chief Risk Officer to fortify our credit and financial risk management frameworks, ensuring they are both comprehensive and current.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the ongoing development and refinement of routine reporting processes.
  • Compile and present risk analyses for key stakeholders and committees.
  • Deliver risk data and insights in a clear and impactful manner.
  • Analyze data to identify themes and trends, effectively communicating findings to drive strategic insights.
  • Contribute to the establishment of a robust risk management framework, including regular reviews of policies and procedures.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of Credit Risk portfolio performance to pinpoint emerging risks.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including IT, to design and automate tools for Prudential Risk initiatives.
  • Enhance existing management information and analytical reporting tools to better understand current trends.
  • Elevate Credit Risk capabilities by integrating new data sources into oversight processes.

Work Environment: While our operations are based in Dorset, we offer a flexible hybrid working model. Experienced candidates in financial risk management may work primarily remotely, whereas those with less experience may be required to work in the office a few days a week.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel, including Data, Power Query, Tables & Formatting, and VBA.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a risk management or data analytics capacity.
  • Proven ability to generate insightful analyses from complex data sets.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Science, Computer Science, Economics, etc.).
  • Basic technical knowledge of credit risk and broader prudential risks, along with an understanding of the regulatory framework.

Compensation: This is a full-time, permanent position focused on effective risk management within the organization. The salary offered is competitive and commensurate with experience, with flexibility for both junior candidates with analytical experience and senior professionals with established risk management expertise.
