About the Role

As a key member of the REISS design team, the Accessories Designer, Menswear will be responsible for driving creativity and innovation within the menswear accessories department. This role involves establishing the direction of the product range through extensive research, development, and mood setting to design each product in non-clothing categories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a seasonal design brief for non-clothing categories such as bags, small leather goods, hard and soft accessories.
  • Provide detailed style direction for new and existing products, ensuring consistency in style and aesthetic.
  • Collaborate with clothing designers to ensure a cohesive and stylish product range.
  • Coordinate with factories and suppliers to bring the product vision to life, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution.
  • Work closely with product managers to develop and implement product strategies, including materials, pricing, and execution.
  • Assist with commercialization efforts, collaborating with production and technical managers to drive sales and revenue growth.
  • Support buying, retail, and marketing efforts for the collection, ensuring a strong brand presence.
  • Mentor and develop a design assistant within the department, fostering a culture of innovation and creativity.

Requirements

  • Degree in Fashion Design with expertise in illustration and visual communication.
  • Extensive experience in the product lifecycle, from initial sketches to consumer delivery.
  • Direct experience working with factories, understanding their challenges and capabilities.
  • Diverse design experience in various non-clothing product categories.
  • In-depth knowledge of the competitive marketplace.
  • Ability to travel frequently, with additional language skills a bonus.
