We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate individual to join our team as an Energy and Carbon Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in helping us achieve our goal of becoming a net-zero carbon borough by 2045.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and deliver the council's energy programme and carbon management strategy.
  • Work closely with other teams to ensure the decarbonisation of the energy sector aligns with the delivery of inclusive and sustainable growth.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on all energy issues, ensuring value for money alongside emission reductions in all decision-making.
  • Manage the Council's Energy Officer and ensure the successful delivery of the energy programme.

Requirements:

  • IT literacy and relevant energy experience.
  • Ability to build effective relationships across the Council and with external stakeholders.
  • Existing track record of delivering carbon reduction and energy programmes.
  • Energetic, agile, and responsive colleague and manager, able to work collaboratively with staff, members, and stakeholders.
