As part of a distinguished culinary team, you will engage directly with colleagues to produce meals that meet the highest quality benchmarks. By leveraging premium ingredients and focusing on locally sourced and seasonal products, you will be responsible for planning and creating menu items suitable for various events and occasions.
While your primary location will be within a prestigious establishment, you will also have the opportunity to work at various locations throughout the year.
We strive to maintain a balanced work schedule for our kitchen staff, incorporating some shifts during convenient hours and ensuring weekends off.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen personnel to guarantee smooth operations and exceptional service quality.
- Assist the Head Chef with procurement, inventory management, and menu development, offering suggestions for new or enhanced dishes.
- Oversee and participate in the preparation and production of food for a diverse range of events and daily requirements.
- Mentor and guide junior chefs, enhancing their skills in various cooking and preparation techniques across all kitchen sections.
- Ensure compliance with health and hygiene regulations through proper procedural adherence.
Essential Qualifications
- Possessing a City and Guilds catering qualification (or equivalent), you will have substantial experience in a premier catering environment, ideally at a Junior Sous or Sous Chef level.
- Demonstrated proficiency across all kitchen sections: Larder, Vegetables, Sauces, and Pastry, showcasing your versatility.
- Exhibit strong leadership qualities, with a talent for motivating, coaching, and developing junior team members.
- Well-organized with the ability to plan and delegate tasks effectively.
- Possess a solid understanding of health and safety standards to maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen atmosphere.
- Strong communication skills to foster positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Able to excel in a dynamic environment where each day presents new culinary challenges and opportunities.
