In this essential role, the Maintenance Engineer will oversee all health and safety documentation (including fire pump tests, emergency generator tests, and fire alarm tests), manage engineering contractors during off-peak hours, and address any performance deficiencies. You will ensure that mechanical and electrical systems operate at peak efficiency, execute planned preventative maintenance tasks, and maintain accurate records of water treatment for various systems. Additionally, you will respond to guest engineering requests during your shift and participate in the hotel’s emergency response team, including handling emergency lift releases and assisting guests during critical situations. You will also support the Rooms Technicians and identify potential energy-saving initiatives while ensuring a safe environment for yourself, your colleagues, and our guests.

Essential Skills & Recent Experience:

  • Proficient knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Strong understanding of building services, including air handling units, pumps, and pipework layouts.
  • Experience in managing testing and documentation for fire, life, and safety systems, along with taking corrective actions on plant, gas, and air ventilation equipment in compliance with legal and safety standards.

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

  • Trained in the application of preventative maintenance protocols.
  • Familiarity with hotel operational systems that enhance service efficiency.
  • Knowledge of relevant brand standards in areas of responsibility.
  • A qualification in plumbing or electrical work is required.
