Position Overview

An excellent opportunity has emerged for a Healthcare Appointments Coordinator to join our dedicated Call Centre team within the Medical Records department. We are currently seeking a part-time professional to provide essential support.

The Appointments team plays a crucial role in managing patient schedules, processing referrals, and maintaining communication with patients via telephone. Additionally, you may be involved in assisting our compact call centre team by handling incoming patient inquiries.

Flexibility to work across various locations may be required to meet operational needs.

We are in search of a committed individual who is eager to learn, possesses strong organizational skills, and can work independently. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude, approachability, and excellent telephone communication skills. Being a team player with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment is essential.

About Our Organization

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) is dedicated to delivering high-quality, safe, and effective healthcare to the residents of Cheshire and surrounding areas.

Established as an NHS Trust in April 1991 and becoming a Foundation Trust in April 2008, we manage multiple healthcare facilities and employ nearly 5,000 staff members, offering a wide range of services including emergency care, maternity, outpatient services, and pediatric health.

We are also part of the Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership (CCICP), a collaborative local health initiative that provides various community services across South Cheshire and Vale Royal.

Role Requirements

  • Appointments: Responsible for scheduling outpatient appointments, managing waiting lists, and liaising with patients or their caregivers. This role is primarily desk-based.
  • Call Centre: Serve as a central point of contact for managing telephone inquiries from patients and requests for appointment rescheduling. This role is also desk-based.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • GCSE in Maths and English (grade C or above) or equivalent qualifications.
  • Understanding of confidentiality requirements in accordance with Data Protection regulations.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with Trust systems such as PCS, Somerset, NHS e-Referral Service, Bookwise, and Envoy.

Skills

Essential:

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Patient-centered approach, adaptable, and willing to propose improvements.
  • Capability to work collaboratively within a team and independently.
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a systematic and logical manner.

Desirable:

Experience

Essential:

  • Training or experience in customer service.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications.
