About the Role

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced and skilled Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Private Patient Medical Day Unit (PPMDU). As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake routine advanced physical assessments of day care patients receiving systemic anti-cancer treatments (SACT) and supportive therapies.
  • Assess patients prior to each treatment, taking a thorough history, conducting clinical examinations, arranging relevant investigations, and prescribing SACT and other supportive medications as necessary.
  • Present and attend PPMDU Consultant rounds, preparing SACT clinic and outpatient lists in conjunction with the team.
  • Provide support and advice to nursing, medical, and allied health professionals on the management of SACT patients.
  • Obtain informed consent from patients prior to starting their first chemotherapy cycle and ongoing cycles.
Requirements
  • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Diploma or degree-level study (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and physical assessment skills.
  • Qualification in oncology or postgraduate equivalent.
  • SACT passport or equivalent recognized chemotherapy module.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • ILS/ALS certification.
  • Recognized teaching qualification.
  • Leadership qualification.
  • Experience in accreditation processes.
  • Qualification in non-medical prescribing.
  • Master's degree in Advanced Practice.
