About the Role

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Director to lead our Specialist Division, which includes Forensic Services, Learning Disability & Autism Services, Early Intervention, Perinatal and Children & Young People's Mental Health.

The successful candidate will join a team of three Adult Services Divisional Clinical Directors for Brighton & Hove, West and East Sussex.

A relocation package of £8000 is available, where appropriate.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Clinical Leadership: Provide clinical leadership and direction to the division, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and outcomes for the local population.
  2. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long-term strategic plans for the division, aligned with national mental health policy and strategy, and in partnership with other stakeholders.
  3. Financial Management: Oversee the financial position of the division, ensuring services are provided within the agreed financial envelope while maintaining appropriate clinical standards.
  4. Service Improvement: Lead on service change programmes that deliver cost improvements and quality enhancements, while maintaining clinical standards.
  5. Culture and Governance: Embed a culture of continuous improvement, openness, and responsibility, and ensure that the learning from serious incidents and complaints is acted upon.
  6. Relationships and Representation: Develop and maintain excellent relationships with GPs, Clinical Commissioning Groups, Acute Hospitals, and Sustainability & Transformation Partnerships, and represent the Trust in key clinical commissioning forums.
  7. Research and Audit: Lead on the development of research and audit strategies and implementation plans within services, and make decisions on the appropriateness of clinical research studies.

The Clinical Director will report to the Deputy Chief Medical Officer and will be responsible for ensuring the best quality care and outcomes are delivered by the services in their division for the local population served within the resources available and in partnership with others.
